Fairness is not a real thing

When you consider the word, “fair,” what comes to mind? Equality, impartiality, justice or balance?

My problem with the word, like many non-functional constructs is that it can mean many things, and still mean nothing, at the same time.

“Fair” is a generalization that pays little attention to uniqueness. “Fair” is a centring of one’s morality as the adjudicator of what’s good and evil. “Fair” is an assumption, an estimation…and as such, it’s not a real thing.
