How to interpret the Bible

The fact that the Bible is a coherent book has been a debatable subject for centuries.

Some people argue that you can make the Bible say whatever you want it to say. After all, the popes used Luke 14:23, taken completely out of context, to prosecute a two-hundred-year war.

Well, except you “wrest” the scriptures, you cannot make it say whatever you want it to say.

The rule for interpreting the Bible is that it must interpret itself, otherwise, don’t even attempt to interpret it with your head and don’t let anyone in the name of being a member of the clergy interpret the Bible, except by the rule. If you must interpret the Bible, scripture must interpret scripture. This means, using verses of the Bible to appraise and understand other verses.
