Not guilty

When Jesus rose from the dead, according to the Bible, it was the upturning of a “guilty” verdict with a “not guilty” verdict.

Note that under the divine law of the universe, death was the consequence of every malfunction. When a bird that was designed to fly doesn’t fly, it dies. When a fish designed to swim doesn’t, it dies. When you, designed in the image of God, do not function as designed, you die.

But when Jesus died for you and rose from the dead, He rose with you a brand new image of God. All your errors, faults and mistakes were paid for and then, dismissed. You are declared, “not guilty” the moment you endorse with your own words this beautiful thing that Jesus did for you.
